It’s spring time and love is in the air. I myself am happily booed up but I definitely remember the struggles of being single. In this post I’m gonna show you how to get ready for that first date without breaking your pocket.
We’re living in a time when you’re always just a swipe away from meeting someone new. After a few messages back and forth with some thoughtfully placed emojis, you feel comfortable that the person you’re talking to isn’t going to Silence of The Lambs you, so you set up a date. Now comes the dilemma of finding the right outfit to wear.
Dating apps allow you to dive into someone’s sauce to get a good idea of a person before you meet them. Whether you plan on being there for a good time or a long time, your appearance in that first in person meeting is important.
I picked up this Kurta from amazon for $25. It’s very light weight and breathable so its a great top for spring. I know it’s a bit more of a look than some might feel comfortable pulling off. That’s totally cool. You can easily substitute the kurta for a nice button up shirt and still pull off this look.
I know these might look like a designer pair but I picked up these Levi’s 541 athletic fit jeans from Macy’s for $63.59 after tax and shipping. I saved money by distressing and bleaching them myself. I had to pay an alterationist about $15 to taper the leg for me. Still much cheaper than buying a designer pair.
I love these red vans! They’re simple yet fun and only cost 47.99. They really add some pop to this look.
This Brixton Fedora is really the cherry on top and for $51.99 it’s a great piece at a great price that really punctuates this look.
I got a head to toe look for about $203.57. That might seem like a lot but when shopping in extended sizes you have to be prepared to run them pockets. With that being said this is still not a bad price tag for a whole look that with have you turning heads.
I hope this look gives you some motivation for the next time you’re preparing for that first date. Please comment below and let me know what you guys think. I’d also love to hear about anything you might like for me to cover.

Great fresh looks for spring! Love that you are bringing new style and confidence to a traditionally big/tall frame. You are forging a new and very important trail for many formerly overlooked by the fashion industry. Bravo!

$200 for a new outfit is definitely a good deal, especially if that’s the end result. Great look man.
